Holographic vinyl looks stunning, but the finish, width and adhesive all change how a job turns out. Here is how to pick the right one first time.
1. Pick your finish
Plain gives a smooth mirror-rainbow. Glitter adds fine sparkle. Smashed Glass throws light from a faceted pattern. High Tack Plain is the plain finish on a stronger adhesive for textured or low-energy surfaces.
2. Match the width to your machine
Rolls run from 510mm (20") up to 1520mm (60"). Match the width to your cutter or plotter, and to the size of the jobs you take on. Buying a wider roll usually lowers your price per metre, so check the per-metre figure shown on every product.
3. Choose the adhesive
Standard permanent adhesive suits most flat, clean surfaces. Choose High Tack when applying to textured, powder-coated or low-energy surfaces where standard vinyl might lift.
4. Order a sample first
If you are unsure, a £4.95 sample pack shows you every finish in your own light before you commit to a 50m roll. It is the cheapest way to get the choice right.
